Limitations

The default spacar version distributed via Blackboard supports flexible multibody models with a maximum of 50 flexible deformation modes. In example, if fully flexible beams are considered (deformation 1 to 6 is flexible), a maximum of 8 beam elements can be used. For problems with limited complexity, this should be sufficient.

Known bugs

Read/write errors When spacarlight (and also the full spacar) is called, it reads and writes an input and output file to the disc of your computer. Especially when spacar is called repeatedly in consecutive calls (in example in an optimization routine), this can result in read/write errors which can cause the simulation to fail or matlab to crash (Fortran/intel read/write error).

To prevent this problem, make sure your working directory in matlab is not synchronized over the internet (in example an active dropbox folder or synced by another cloud service). Best practice is to use the C: disk.
